Planning our new home on the Sunshine Coast, we wanted to work with a local designer. We met Pete and found him to be, not only professional but very warm, genuine and down to earth as well. Our situation was a little different in that we lived over 500km away! This meant communication with Pete during the design process was via many phone calls and emails. At all times, Pete was approachable, gave good advice and readily listened to any changes we wanted made. We believe the end result provides a great balance between practicality and design appeal. We chose Pete and Taylor’d Distinction to work with us to plan the renovation of our old workers cottage in Paddington, QLD.
We wanted to retain the charm and character of the old cottage but also wanted more space with an open feel, passive cooling and airflow. All while staying as close as possible within the existing footprint of the old house. A tall order but the team at Taylor’d Distinction rose to the challenge and delivered a plan that ticked all of the boxes.

One of the big things that resonated with me throughout our design process with Peter Taylor, was his early comment that the plans will evolve naturally throughout the process. That is exactly what happened with us - and with each evolution the design really began to come alive. Pete was relaxed, professional and a real joy to deal with. I would happily recommend Pete Taylor from Taylor'd Distinction. He helped me put together my vision and was happy to change the design as I played around with layout and budget. Extremely easy to get along with and communication was open and effective. The plans were drawn to a high standard and we had no problems with council at all. As a designer myself, I strongly advise getting a professional building designer like Pete. It's not just plans and layout, it involves knowledge of engineering, associated costs with layout and thinking about things like best use of space, airflow, light and energy
