Shutters are installed on the outside but are controlled from inside. Occasionally perhaps due to body corporate or council restrictions they can be installed on the inside. Outside is preferable and usual. They are operated from inside either manually (handle winding mechanism) or electrically (turn a switch like a dimmer used for lighting).

If you want to leave your shutters in the ventilated position while locked, leave the bottom two slats closed to prevent stretching of the shutter. CLEANING: A regular hose down, wipe with a cloth or brush down with a soft broom or brush or hand broom and non abrasive detergent is usually all that is needed.

TO CLOSE: hold cord firmly, pull straight out from the control box toward your body and lower gently. Turn the handle to raise or lower the shutter. Be careful NOT to overwind as this will cause the cable to unravel and tangle inside the pelmet box. There are "stops" fitted to the bottom slat on the outside so try not to let these hit the pelmet box.
